함양아Yang ah ham, <새의 시선(Bird's Eye View)>

Bird’s Eye View(Excerpt), 2008, 10min. single channel or 3 channel video installation. High Speed HD, silent
Bird’s Eye View was created as a site-specific video installation for the Old Seoul station building.
It is composed of three sequences; the first and last show the pigeons both in and outside the site from
an outside perspective. The middle part is filmed with a micro camera attached to a pigeon’s body and
offers an exclusively bird’s eye view of the inside of the station. In this work, the pigeons represent
the trained and controlled beings in society. As such it could be a response to the individual egos whose
views have remained silent through humanity’s accounts of time (history).

닿는 높이의 3면에 설치된다. 가득한 먼지 사이로 비둘기들이 날아다니는 어지러운 화면이 보여주는
것은, 함께 하지만 소통하지 않는 인간과 비둘기의 관계이자 인간과 인간 간의 관계이다. 한편 작가는

2- <새의 시선-Bird’s Eye View>는 침묵해온 존재들의 시선으로 인간세계를 바라보는 작품이다. 작가는 인간에 의해 훈련되고 조정되는 사회구성원으로서의 동물인 비둘기를 선택하고, 그들의 시선으로 인간에 의해 쓰여진 시간을 바라본다.
